Look Who Turned Lucky Number 7!

Crazy how time flies. This cheeky girl turned 7 on July 11th and she couldn't of been more excited. I mean seriously she does have a pretty sweet birth day. Every year she gets to get the biggest Slurpee compliments of 7-11. What kid wouldn't be happy about that?

The morning of all my kids' birthdays they are greeted with a surprise candy dish to celebrate their special day.

The day McKinley was born was a pretty special day for Ben. When McKinley was born she weighed 7 pounds 14 ounces and was 19 inches long. Ben remembers how peaceful and happy she looked as if she was saying " I'm so happy to see you daddy". He also remembers her cry. It took her a long moment for her voice to be heard but when she finally cried Ben knew he had a feisty little girl. And he was right. McKinley has a bit of sass and feistiness. She may be the smallest in our family but her tiny frame packs a big punch. When she has something to say we all listen. A quality most parents want in a natural born leader.

This year Mac chose to have have a bowling party followed by pizza at Pagliacci's. She rocked bowling finishing with a score of 89!

McKinley had a great birthday! She was so happy and thrilled to turn 7. I like to write a little dedication to each of my children to honor their special day. Birthdays are special no matter what age. It's a day to celebrate who we are individually and to share our life with the ones we love. It's a day for us parents to reflect on all the great memories and then realize how old we really are!

Est. 2015

So I decided to start yet another blog. Obviously I couldn't keep up on the last two and a lot has changed in the last couple of years that a new blog seems fitting.

New Family = New Blog

C & H represents our families two last names: Charlton and Hubbs. Not the sugar. Yes, we are a blended family. Ugh, that term "blended". It's like I'm whipping up a damn smoothie or something but it's the name society has used to describe our kind and frankly I can't think of another name at the moment.

Our family was established in 2014. The story goes...Once Upon a time Ben and Nona met on a rainy day in December of 2013. They both had two kids all the same age as the opposite. They married in 2014 and are living happily ever after. The end.

We have 4 kids. Essentially two sets of twins. They all share a room and they get along amazingly. And Minecraft is their life!

Minecraft. The game that builds creativity

However, they failed to mention that it also creates addiction.  All day I hear:

"Come into my world and we can build something"
"Get out"
"You just stole my pig"
"Well I wanted bacon"
"I'm lost in the desert searching for my house I built"
"Look what I made for you"
"Awe I love it"
"Why did you do that?"
"HOLDEN!"

Being the only boy in the family Holden likes to cause mischief. Can't blame him. He's surrounded by the XX chromosome. And will be for the rest of his life. I feel bad for his future girlfriends. Ayla, Ava and McKinley vs All of Holden's future girlfriends...you do the math.

The dynamic of our family surely has its days but it's amazing and fun and full of life. So what if we do multiple loads of laundry EVERY SINGLE DAY and the dishwasher is CONSTANTLY running and there is always toothpaste spit on the towels, I wouldn't change anything about us.
